Acne

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It causes whiteheads, blackheads or pimples. Acne is most common among teenagers, though it affects people of all ages. Effective acne treatments are available, but acne can be persistent.

Eczema

Eczema, also called Atopic Dermatitis is a condition that makes your skin red and itchy. It's common in children but can occur at any age. Atopic dermatitis is long lasting (chronic) and tends to flare periodically. It may be accompanied by asthma or hay fever.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes red, itchy scaly patches, most commonly on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp. Psoriasis is a common, long-term (chronic) disease with no cure. It tends to go through cycles, flaring for a few weeks or months, then subsiding for a while or going into remission.

Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a condition in which the skin loses its pigment cells (melanocytes). This can result in discolored patches in different areas of the body, including the skin, hair and mucous membranes.

Skin Infections

Various infections because of bacteria, virus or fungus may occur and result in irritation on the skin.

Hair loss

Hair disorders results in hair loss which causes baldness. Hair loss can be treated, and new hair can also be grown on the scalp.

Melasma

Melasma is a common skin problem. The condition causes dark, discolored patches on your skin. It’s also called chloasma, or the “mask of pregnancy,” and occurs in pregnant women. The condition is more common in women than men. Ninety percent of people who develop melasma are women.

Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer. It happens due to the abnormal growth of skin cells, most often develops on skin exposed to the sun, but can occur anywhere on the body.

Pemphigus Vulgaris

Pemphigus Vulgaris is a rare chronic blistering skin disease, which basically means that an individual's immune system starts reacting against his or her own tissue. It is characterized by blisters and erosions on the skin and mucous membranes, most commonly inside the mouth.

Urticaria

Urticaria is the medical term for hives. Hives are red swellings of the skin that occur in groups on any part of the skin. Angioedema is a swelling similar to urticaria, but the swelling is beneath the skin rather than on the surface. Urticaria and angioedema often occur together. There are also many classifications of urticaria and angioedema including acute, chronic, physical, urticaria with inflammation of the blood vessels (vasculitis), hereditary angioedema and acquired C1 esterase inhibitor-deficiency. To diagnose and develop a treatment for angioedema and urticaria, our specialists perform a compressive history and physical examination as well as appropriate laboratory testing and referral to other specialists as needed.
