What We Treat / Procedures
Retinal Disorders
Retina is like the film of the camera where the image is formed & gets transmitted to the brain for processing. A damaged retina can lead to significant disturbances in the vision. This can lead to permanent damage if not treated on time. Diabetes is a growing health problem, and it affects the retina causing Diabetic Retinopathy which is one of the leading causes of blindness. Often in some eyes, there may be bleeding inside the eye called vitreous hemorrhage, or the retina may be displaced from its position called retinal detachment. Age Related Macular Degeneration or ARMD is an eye condition among people over the age of 60, more likely to develop as an individual ages. It affects the central a part of the retina, called macula.
Uveitis
Uveitis is a form of eye inflammation. When the middle layer of the eye, known as uvea, becomes inflamed, it is called uveitis. Redness, eye pain, blurred vision and sensitivity to light are some common symptoms of uveitis.
Squint
Squint is the condition of the eye in which the control over the muscles of the eyes is lost and the patient is not able to look in the same direction through both eyes. It is also known as crossed or turned eye. A squint, or strabismus, is a condition in which the eyes do not align properly. One eye turns inwards, upwards, downwards, or outwards, while the other one focuses at one spot.
Glaucoma
A glaucoma is a group of diseases that result in damage of the nerves which might result in irreversible vision loss. Glaucoma has been called the "silent thief of sight" because it manifests as a painless gradual loss of vision over a long period, and symptoms only occur when the disease is quite advanced.
